State Senator David G. Argall | Pennsylvania 29th District
The February edition of a local TV program, hosted by Sen. Dave Argall (R-29), highlights efforts to revitalize towns in Schuylkill, Carbon, and Luzerne counties. The program also discusses the ongoing controversy regarding vacant state properties in White Haven and other areas in Pennsylvania.
Senator Argall expressed optimism about the progress made so far: "While MUCH work remains ahead, we’ve made real progress revitalizing many of our local communities," he stated. He believes that these improvements will have long-term benefits for the region.
The program also covers a Senate Majority Policy Committee hearing led by Argall. This hearing focused on delays at vacant state centers located in White Haven, Hamburg, and Polk. These facilities were closed without input from local communities or state legislators. Despite their closure, $162 million has been spent recently to maintain these empty properties.
"This governor and the last two governors, Republican and Democrat, should all be embarrassed by this continuing bureaucratic nightmare," said Argall during the discussion.
