State Representative Jamie Flick has announced that Montgomery Borough will receive nearly $1 million in grant funding to upgrade its water line infrastructure. This funding, awarded through the Local Share Account (LSA) Statewide program, aims to improve the borough's aging water system, benefiting approximately 800 local customers.

The LSA Statewide program supports projects across Pennsylvania that focus on community and economic development as well as school improvement. In Montgomery Borough, outdated water lines have led to insufficient water pressure in some areas, posing challenges for the fire department.

"I’m proud to have been an advocate for Montgomery Borough and to ensure they received this vital funding," said Flick. "This investment will not only improve the safety and well-being of residents but also strengthen the borough’s infrastructure, making it a better place to live and work."

Donna Miller from the Montgomery Water Authority expressed her satisfaction with the grant: “When the grant money was awarded, I was thrilled that my hometown could be awarded this wonderful amount,” she said. “This grant money will help with the replacement of a large part of Wagner Avenue and Broad Street. More grants are being applied for the completion of the project. This improvement will help Montgomery to 'Grow Towards Tomorrow.' I appreciate Rep. Flick for his constant support.”

The upgrades are expected to enhance fire safety, improve water quality, and support growth within Montgomery Borough. The project represents a significant step toward modernizing local infrastructure.
