The University of Pennsylvania men's basketball team is set to play two games before the Christmas break. The Quakers will host Rider on Friday night, marking their only home game over a 48-day period, before traveling to face George Mason on Sunday.

The game against Rider will be the seventh meeting between the two teams, with Rider leading the series 4-2. "Four of the six games in this matchup have gone to overtime and one of the non-OT games was decided by one point (Rider winning 89-88 in 2013)." Last year, Penn secured a win at Rider's home court with a score of 77-73 in overtime.

On Sunday, Penn will play George Mason for the sixth time. The Patriots hold a 4-1 lead in their series. "Mason holds a 4-1 lead in the series, Penn's only win coming 72-71 on November 6, 2018." Their most recent encounter ended with an 87-66 victory for George Mason.

Penn's roster includes three transfers this season: Ethan Roberts from Drake, Dylan Williams from Triton College, and Michael Zanoni from Mercer. Roberts previously earned recognition as Patriot League Rookie of the Year at Army during the 2022-23 season.

Penn fans can follow both games through ESPN+ and listen via the Quaker Audio Network (QAN), with Matt Leon providing play-by-play commentary and Stan Pawlak offering analysis.
