Five student-athletes from the Penn College women's soccer team have been named to the 2024 College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District® Division III Women's Soccer Team. The announcement was made on Tuesday by the organization.

Senior goalkeeper Nicole Lichtinger, from Erie, Pa., received her second all-district nomination. Joining her are junior midfielders Wiley Egan of Northumberland, Pa., and Brooke Klinger of Herndon, Pa. Junior midfielder Olivia Casella from South Williamsport, Pa., and sophomore defender Makayla Bucks from Palmyra, Pa., were also selected for the first time.

To qualify for the 2024 Academic All-District® Women's Soccer Team, student-athletes must be sophomores or above with a GPA of at least 3.50 and have participated in 90% of their institution's contests or started in 66% during the season.

Lichtinger is a Physical Therapy Assistant major with a GPA of 3.85. She led her team with an impressive performance this season, achieving first place in the United East and ranking tenth in Division III with 11 shutouts. She maintained a save percentage of 0.860 and a goals-against average of 0.375 over 16 starts.

Egan is studying Nursing with a GPA of 3.83 and played in 19 games with eight goals and three assists to her name. Klinger is pursuing Dental Hygiene with a GPA of 3.62 and scored four goals in her appearances.

Casella contributed significantly to her team's success by scoring nine goals and providing seven assists, ranking third on the team with 25 points overall. She is majoring in Business Administration with a GPA of 3.85.

Bucks has been recognized twice as part of the United East All-Conference team and anchored a strong defense that ranked second in their league for goals-against average and save percentage this season.

The Wildcats achieved their best single-season record since joining NCAA competition, finishing undefeated at 15-0-4 during regular play before reaching the United East semifinal stage.

The CSC Academic All-District® Women's Soccer Teams acknowledge top-performing student-athletes who excel both academically and athletically across four divisions: NCAA Division I through III as well as NAIA levels nationwide each year under separate programs like Academic All-America®. Those honored within districts can advance onto ballots where selections occur annually until December when final results are published publicly recognizing outstanding individuals' achievements
