Penn College's men's soccer team achieved a significant milestone with five players earning all-conference selections, marking the most in the program's NCAA-era history. The United East conference announced its 2024 All-Conference awards and postseason honors, recognizing several Penn College athletes for their performances this season.
Senior Tommy DeGeyter was named to the first-team defense, securing his third all-conference selection. "DeGeyter became just the third Wildcat to earn three or more all-conference nods in program history," highlighting his contributions as he led the Wildcats in points (18), goals (6), and assists (6) this season. Freshman Scott Goldfeder received second-team midfield honors, while seniors Logan Stapleton, Matt Neeson, and Jack Lenosky earned third-team recognitions.
The Wildcats' achievement of five postseason selections is their highest since joining the NCAA. Previously, they recorded nine selections in 2004 as part of the Pennsylvania State University Athletic Conference.
DeGeyter's leadership helped propel the Wildcats to an impressive season with a record of 11 wins and a strong performance against United East opponents. Goldfeder contributed significantly during his freshman year, tying for second on the team with ten points.
Stapleton, Neeson, and Lenosky were recognized for their consistent play throughout the season. The trio started every game and played key roles in both offense and defense for Penn College.
Penn College's success this season included earning its first home playoff game victory over Keystone, advancing them to the quarterfinal round.
In addition to individual accolades for Penn College players, other notable awards were distributed within the United East conference. Jesse Brittain from Cairn University was named Offensive Player of the Year; Jack Nelson from St. Mary's College of Maryland earned Defensive Player of the Year; Rookie of the Year went to Zach Blaum from St. Mary's College of Maryland; Alun Oliver from St. Mary's College of Maryland was awarded Coach of the Year.
