State Senator Gene Yaw and State Representative Jamie Flick have announced that over $1 million has been allocated to two projects in Lycoming County. The funds were awarded by the Pennsylvania Department of Conservation and Natural Resources (DCNR) through the Community Conservation Partnership Program (C2P2).

Senator Yaw expressed his support for the projects, stating, “Funding for these projects will undoubtedly benefit our region and have a positive impact on our environment and recreational opportunities. I am pleased to see this important investment in Lycoming County.”

Representative Flick highlighted the transformative potential of the funding: “This funding will help transform Lycoming County and the City of Williamsport by expanding recreational opportunities and improving public spaces. From the extension of the Susquehanna River Walk to the revitalization of Youngs Woods Park, these projects will create lasting benefits for our communities, enhancing accessibility, recreation, and environmental stewardship.”

The C2P2 program is supported by various state and federal sources such as the Keystone Recreation, Park and Conservation Fund, Environmental Stewardship Fund, federal Land and Water Conservation Fund, Pennsylvania Trails Fund, Pennsylvania Heritage Area Program, and ATV Restricted Management Account Fund.
