Committee reviews energy-related bills including CO2 budget trading program

The Senate Environmental Resources and Energy Committee is set to convene on January 27, 2025. The meeting will take place in the Rules Committee Conference Room immediately following the floor session.

The agenda includes a roll call and a welcome for new members Kane, Laughlin, and Bartolotta. The committee will consider two significant bills during this session.

Senate Bill 186, introduced by Senator Yaw, aims to address regulations concerning the CO2 Budget Trading Program. This legislation seeks to provide "for the abrogation of regulations relating to the CO2 Budget Trading Program."

Additionally, another bill sponsored by Senator Yaw proposes amendments to Title 71 of the Pennsylvania Consolidated Statutes. This bill focuses on establishing an Independent Energy Office within boards and offices.
