Penn College faced a setback in their women's volleyball match against Penn State Abington, losing 3-0 at Bardo Gym. The Wildcats' record now stands at 1-8 in conference matches and 3-23 overall, while the Nittany Lions improved to 5-3 in the United East conference and 19-5 overall.
The sets were decided with scores of 25-8, 25-19, and 25-16 in favor of Abington. During the match, Jo Hess surpassed the milestone of 200 assists for the season by contributing 14 assists, bringing her total to 201. Nevaeh Ward led Penn College's offense with nine kills. Ava Harple added five kills and achieved a team-high of 16 digs. Laney Wolfe also recorded double-digit digs with a total of 12, and Hailey DeBrody contributed with three and a half blocks.
For Penn State Abington, Zayna Jamaladdin was instrumental in their victory, finishing with 15 kills, two aces, and a block assist.
Looking ahead, Penn College will conclude their regular season on Saturday with an away game against Saint Elizabeth at 1 p.m.
