Competing on April 1-2 at the Adam Wheatcroft Memorial held at James Madison University in Harrisonburg, Virginia, Pennsylvania College of Technology archers achieved notable results. The team secured three first-place finishes, seven second-place finishes, three third-place finishes, and two fourth-place finishes in their inaugural outdoor event of the season.

Second place was achieved by Weber in men's compound; Erica Gause from Bloomsburg in women's bowhunter; the men's compound team comprising Tyler Schoonover from Bradford, Logan Booth from New Kensington, and Tim Lamont from Eldred; the men's recurve team consisting of Tanner Huff from Altoona, Nicholas Daniels from Levittown, and Josh Maring from Brookville; the women's compound team including Douglas, Sabrina Toplovich from Spring Creek, and Rylee Butler from Bellefonte; the women's bowhunter team made up of Gause, Stephanie Plummer from Port Matilda, and Sarah Decker from Williamsport; as well as the mixed bowhunter team featuring John Kleinfelter from Lebanon and Gause.

Schoonover placed third in men's compound while Adam Thomas took third place in men's bowhunter. The mixed recurve team composed of Tanner Huff and Kaylee Burk from Hermitage also finished third.

Fourth places were secured by Douglass in women's compound and Huff in men's recurve.

"The scores for the qualifying round on Saturday were low for everyone due to a very windy day. Sunday was a great day and scores came up," coach Chad Karstetter commented. He noted that despite challenging weather conditions back home affecting their practice sessions prior to this competition weekend "we shot well but did see room for improvement."

"Overall I am very pleased with the teams scores and finishes and it was a good start to the outdoor season," added Karstetter who is serving his 15th season as coach.

The next event for Penn College will be hosting the Eastern Outdoor Regionals on April 22-23.
