Penn College's women's volleyball team faced two defeats in the United East matches on Saturday. The Wildcats lost to Penn State Harrisburg with a score of 3-1 and fell to Lancaster Bible, 3-0.
The Wildcats concluded their season without a win in the United East, ending with an overall record of 2-19.
In the match against Penn State Harrisburg, after losing the first set 25-9, Penn College made a comeback attempt in the second set. They were trailing 24-20 when Cheyenne Stein's service error and consecutive aces brought them close at 24-23. Another error tied the set at 24. Christine Limbert and Lauren Hergert secured consecutive kills, winning the set for Penn College and leveling the match at 1-1. However, Harrisburg won the next two sets, finishing at 25-15 and 25-18.
Key performers for Penn College included Hailey DeBrody with eight kills, Maggie Mangene with six kills, and Christine Limbert with five kills. Cheyenne Stein led in aces with four while Coryn Oswald had three. In assists, Stein recorded fifteen while Brooke Simmons contributed significantly in digs with twenty.
