Penn College's women's volleyball team was defeated by Gallaudet University in a United East Conference match on Monday. The Wildcats, who are now 0-4 in the conference and 4-14 overall, were unable to secure a win against the Bison. Meanwhile, Gallaudet maintained their unbeaten record in the conference with a 3-0 standing and improved their season record to 22-3.
The match concluded with Gallaudet securing set scores of 25-7, 25-16, and 25-20. The Bison demonstrated strong performance with a hitting percentage of .287 while limiting Penn College to .069.
Gallaudet dominated in several statistical categories, leading the Wildcats in kills (41 to 22), aces (10 to 3), and blocks (6 to 1). Marianna Dariychuk achieved a double-double with 15 digs and 12 kills. Coryn Oswald recorded her eighth double-digit digs performance this season with ten digs. Cheyenne Stein provided over ten assists for the fifteenth time this season, concluding the match with thirteen assists.
Penn College is set to continue its season on Tuesday at Penn State Mont Alto before returning home for two final matches against Penn State Abington on October 21 and St. Mary's on October 28.
