Kyle Hawk has been appointed as the head coach of the Penn College women's volleyball team, marking him as the sixth individual to hold this position. His appointment was announced on Thursday.
Before joining Penn College, Hawk spent three years with Bloomsburg University's volleyball program as a volunteer assistant coach. During his tenure, he contributed to daily operations, practice planning, and recruitment efforts. His work helped lead the Huskies to reach the PSAC Championship Quarterfinals in just their fourth year of varsity competition.
Scott Kennell, Director of Athletics at Penn College, expressed enthusiasm about Hawk's arrival: "We are very excited to welcome Coach Hawk to Penn College," Kennell stated. "He comes to us from Bloomsburg University where he helped develop a new program and played an instrumental role in the recruitment of the team. Known as a program builder, Coach Hawk will play an important role in elevating our volleyball program within the United East Conference."
Hawk began his coaching career at Virginia State University as a volunteer assistant from 2015-16 and later coached for Wisetown Volleyball Club's 17U and 18U girls teams in Berwick, Pennsylvania from 2021-22.
Reflecting on his new role, Hawk shared his excitement: "I'm excited and humbled to join the Penn College women's volleyball program. My family and I are thrilled to join the Wildcat family and I can't wait to meet the team and begin our journey together."
Hawk officially assumed his duties on February 19.
