Campbell leads Penn College men to sixth at Abington Invitational

Mitchell Campbell led the Penn College men's cross-country team to a sixth-place finish at the Penn State Abington Invitational. In his fourth collegiate race, Campbell secured first place individually, completing the 8K course in 28:02.26. Among his teammates, Alec Rees finished 34th, Dillon Betts 43rd, Spencer Doughty 45th, Nick Snow 49th, and Noah Bowers 59th.

Penn State Harrisburg won the men's team title with 89 points. They were followed by SUNY Maritime with 108 points and St. Mary's (Md.) with 116 points.

For the women's team, Skyelar Splain led Penn College to a seventh-place finish by running a 6K course in 33:13.32. Madison Shaffer was close behind in 37th place. Other contributors included Rosey Thomas in 52nd place, Emily Witherow in 67th place, Isabella Telford in 69th place, and Amanda Confer finishing in 75th place.

Shannon DiChristina of FDU Florham topped the women's field of runners with a time of 25:37.71. St. Mary's (Md.) College claimed the women's team title with a score of 31 points.

The next competition for Penn College is scheduled for October 8 at Mansfield University during the Ed Winrow Invitational.
