On Saturday, the Penn College cross-country teams competed in the Dickinson College Long-Short Invitational. The men's team secured 18th place with 203 points on an 8,000-meter course, while the women's team finished 17th with 225 points over a 4,000-meter course.
Alec Rees led the men's team, finishing in 69th place with a time of 30:51.7. Other notable performances included Dean Fulton at 94th in 32:13.6, Noah Bowers at 112th in 33:49.5, Nick Snow at 129th in 36:31.9, and AJ Wiles at 130th in 37:02.3. Chad Bomboy and William Roever also participated, finishing at 136th and 138th respectively.
For the women's team, Cinnamon Digan led with a finish time of 19:42.23 and placed 118th overall. Taylor Schon followed at 127th in 20:44.9, Avery Baker was at 130th in 21:00.6, Kayleigh Miller came in at 137th in 21:47.1, and Aubrey Stetts rounded out their performance at 148th with a time of 24:16.7.
In the larger field of competition, Messiah College topped the men's category among the participating teams with a total of 26 points. Christopher Scharf from Dickinson clinched first place individually among the men with a time of "26:06.9." For the women’s race, Shippensburg University emerged victorious among "18 teams" scoring just ten points overall while Isabel Cardi from Dickinson won her race finishing in "14:32.1."
Looking ahead, Penn College is scheduled to compete next at the DeSales University Invitational on October "9."
