Quaker Meeting House (QMH) reflected on the emotional week following the passing of Michael Gavin, a student-athlete who had been part of the football team for two seasons. Gavin succumbed to a rare form of brain cancer diagnosed before he joined the campus in 2022. The Penn Football team expressed their grief on social media, stating, "We are devastated to announce the passing of Michael Gavin C'26, who lost his fierce and courageous battle with stage 4 brain cancer on Saturday."

Before taking the field last Saturday, Penn's football team was informed of Gavin's passing. They honored him by scoring the final 10 points to secure a 20-17 victory over Columbia. Sophomore Bisi Owens played a pivotal role in this win with significant contributions in the fourth quarter.

Penn's sprint football team also achieved a comeback victory against St. Thomas Aquinas, overcoming a 10-point deficit to win 19-15. Their defense made crucial stops that allowed for an offensive turnaround late in the game.
