The University of Pennsylvania's cross country teams participated in the Haverford Invitational on Thursday evening, marking the conclusion of their regular season. The women's team emerged victorious, with Anastasia Russell achieving her first collegiate win.
Russell completed the three-mile course in 17:17.1, leading her team to a total of 21 points. Chloe Hassman and Sarah Fischer followed closely, securing second and third places with times of 17:36.1 and 18:02.5 respectively.
In the men's competition, Sebastian Pizarro was the top performer for Penn, finishing seventh with a time of 21:07.0 over four miles. Brian Gent also placed in the top ten with a time of 21:19.2.
Looking ahead, the Quakers will compete at the Ivy League Heptagonal Championships in Boston on Saturday at Franklin Park. The women's race begins at 11 a.m., followed by the men's race at noon. The event will be available for viewing on ESPN+.
