The University of Pennsylvania men's basketball team concluded its three-game tour in Croatia with a decisive 100-57 victory over KK Dubrava Furnir Zagreb. This win marked the Quakers' third consecutive victory during their overseas trip.
George Smith led the scoring for Penn, contributing 18 points and hitting five three-pointers. Smith also added seven steals and two assists to his performance. Ed Holland III and Niklas Polonowski each scored 15 points, with Polonowski making four three-point shots. Cam Thrower scored 12 points, while Reese McMullen added 11 points, six rebounds, and a team-high five assists. Johnnie Walter rounded out the double-digit scorers with 10 points. Augustus Gerhart led the team in rebounds with seven and blocked two shots, scoring eight points as well.
Penn established a strong lead early in the game, finishing the first quarter ahead by 30-12. Although Dubrava closed the gap to six points early in the second quarter, Penn extended their lead to 49-33 by halftime. The Quakers maintained control throughout the second half as Dubrava rotated through its roster of younger players.
KK Dubrava Furnir Zagreb competes in Croatia's top division, Premijer Liga. Despite missing three senior-level players for this match, Dubrava had finished eighth in their league this season with a record of 14-19 before being eliminated by Zadar in the championship playoffs.
This trip marks Penn's second international tour under head coach Steve Donahue; they previously visited Italy in May 2019.
