The University of Pennsylvania men's basketball team secured a 95-87 victory over KK Kastela in Split, Croatia, marking their second win during their overseas trip. Nick Spinoso led the team with 18 points, while George Smith contributed 13 points, five rebounds, seven assists, and three steals. Niklas Polonowski added 15 points with five three-pointers. Johnnie Walter scored 13 points and Augustus Gerhart recorded 11 points along with a team-high seven rebounds.
The game saw Penn taking an early lead of 24-19 after the first quarter. KK Kastela managed to level the score twice in the second period before Penn regained control to lead by nine at one point. However, Kastela closed the gap to three by halftime with a score of 49-46.
In the third quarter, Penn extended their lead to as many as 13 points before Kastela narrowed it down to five by the end of the quarter at 71-66. The Quakers started strong in the fourth quarter with a decisive 15-2 run that effectively settled the match.
KK Kastela competes in Croatia's Prva Hrvatska Košarkaška Liga and finished sixth last season with a record of 15-11. This game was part of a series of three matches for Penn in Croatia; they previously defeated KK Dubrovnik from Premijer Liga with a score of 72-61 on Saturday. Their final game is scheduled against KK Dubrava Furnir Zagreb on Thursday night before returning to Philadelphia on Saturday.
