Penn College secured a narrow 2-1 victory over Lancaster Bible College in a United East women's soccer match, extending their unbeaten streak. The Wildcats now hold a record of 5-0-1 in the United East and 12-0-4 overall. Meanwhile, the Chargers' record stands at 3-3 in the conference and 4-5-4 overall.
The game began with Lancaster Bible taking an early lead with an unassisted goal in the ninth minute. However, Penn College responded swiftly. Cassie Johnson equalized with a penalty kick in the 14th minute, marking her sixth goal of the season. Brooke Klinger scored the decisive goal in the 43rd minute by converting Ashley Gordon's pass.
In the second half, Lancaster Bible had opportunities to level the score but was unable to capitalize. A shot hit the crossbar in the 46th minute, and Nicole Lichtinger saved another attempt two minutes later. Johnson nearly extended Penn College's lead, but her shot was saved.
Lancaster Bible outshot Penn College 16 to 15; however, Penn College held an advantage with more accurate shots on goal, leading 11 to 3. Both teams had two corner kicks each during the match. Lichtinger made two saves for Penn College.
The Wildcats will next face Keystone College at home on Tuesday at 5 p.m.
