Penn College secured a decisive victory over Cairn University with a score of 29-6 in their United East men's lacrosse conference opener at UPMC Field on Saturday. This win marks the Wildcats' first conference win, bringing their overall record to 5-5, while the Highlanders are now 0-1 in the conference and 2-5 overall.
During the game, Penn College established an early lead of 10-1 by the end of the first quarter and maintained a significant advantage with a halftime score of 15-5. The Wildcats continued to dominate in the second half, outscoring Cairn 14-1.
Aidan McFalls led all scorers with seven goals, followed closely by A.J. Dotson who added six goals. Other contributors included Same Nice, Graham Purdy, Jesse Weick, and Connor Stank each scoring two goals. Dotson also provided five assists for his team. Michael Stank excelled in faceoffs, winning 20 out of 29 attempts.
In goal, Alex Hammond recorded two saves to secure the win for Penn College.
The Wildcats will next face Marywood on Wednesday at 6 p.m.
