Penn College golf team finishes fourth at Battle at Bulle Rock

Penn College golfers improved their performance on the second day of the Battle at Bulle Rock Golf Club, finishing fourth among eight teams. The Wildcats shaved 17 strokes off their first-day score, achieving a team total of 314 on Tuesday after an initial 331 on Monday.

Peyton Mussina led the charge with a second-round score of 75, totaling 155 over two days and tying for eighth place in a field of 39 players. Will Orwig placed 16th with scores of 82 and 77, Gavin Baer tied for 19th with rounds of 83 and 79, Trevor Keaton tied for 28th with scores of 86 and 83, while Sam Wetmiller finished in the 37th position after scoring rounds of 100 and then improving to an 85.

York College emerged victorious in the team competition, followed by Alvernia and Albright. Other participating teams included Jefferson, Hood, Arcadia A, and Arcadia B. Shawn Williams from Alvernia secured individual medalist honors with scores of 71 and a subsequent round of 74.

The Wildcats had concluded the first day sitting seventh in the standings. Mussina was initially tied for twelfth place after carding an eight-over-par round. His performance featured par on eleven holes across the course's layout.

The tournament saw York College leading after day one with a team score of 304. Alvernia trailed closely behind at that stage with a total score of (315), while Jefferson, Albright, and host Arcadia (A) were tied at third place each scoring (325). Hood stood just ahead of Penn College after posting a combined scorecard reading (327).

With this event marking the end of their fall season schedule, Penn College looks forward to resuming play next spring.
