Penn College's golf team secured its second consecutive United East Championship on Sunday, earning a spot in the NCAA Division III Championship next month. The team was led by Peyton Mussina, who emerged as the medalist and individual tournament champion.
Mussina was recognized as the Golfer of the Year and earned a first-team position alongside teammate Trevor Keaton. Gavin Baer, Gunner Redmond, and Will Orwig were named to the UE second team. Coach Rob Lytle received his second consecutive Coach of the Year award.
In terms of performance, Mussina recorded rounds of 70 on Saturday and 79 on Sunday, finishing with a total score of 149. This placed him five strokes ahead in the 45-player field at Philmont Country Club North Course. Keaton tied for fourth with scores of 80-78—158, Orwig tied for sixth with scores of 78-81—159, while both Baer and Redmond tied for eighth with identical scores of 78-82—160.
As a team, Penn College completed rounds of 304-320—624, surpassing Penn State Harrisburg's score by nine shots. Other teams included Lancaster Bible College (657), Rutgers-Camden (659), Penn State Abington (663), Wilson College (682), Penn State Berks (690), Rosemont (754), and Clarks Summit (860).
