Penn College men ninth, women fifteenth at Dutchmen Invitational

Penn College's men finished ninth in a 17-team field with 232 points, and its women were 15th out of 19 teams with 442 points at the Lebanon Valley College Dutchmen Invitational on Saturday.

Matthew Woolcock led the Penn College men, placing 41st in 27:48 over an 8K course. Completing the top five for Penn College were Alec Rees, who finished 52nd in 28:14; Ethan Knapp, who came in 60th in 28:25; Jacob Parker, who placed 82nd in 29:02; and Chase Ebeling, who secured the 96th spot in 29:27.

Host Lebanon Valley claimed the men's team title with a score of 21 points and had the top individual finisher, Rory Lieberman, who completed the race in a time of 25:05.

On the women's side, Elaina Brady was Penn College's top performer, finishing in the 98th position with a time of 22:31 over a 5K course. Other notable finishes for Penn College included Lillian DePew at 137th place in a time of 24:26; Karleigh Hunter at 143rd place in a time of 25:00; Kayleigh Miller at the 146th spot with a time of 25:10; and Adelyn McDermott at the165th position with a time of28:15.

Scranton took first place among women's teams with a score of64 points. Moravian's Tara Smurla led the individual standings with an impressive finish time of18:22.

Penn College will next compete at10:15a.m. Saturdayin the Misericordia University Cougar Classic.
