State Rep. Jamie Fick (R-Lycoming/Union) is organizing a Kids Safe Symposium in Williamsport on May 11, as reported on May 3, 2024. The event, in collaboration with the James V. Brown Library, aims to provide families in the 83rd District with valuable safety information.

The symposium, scheduled from 10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the James V. Brown Library on 19 E. Fourth St., will include a Bike Safety Rodeo course facilitated by Safe Kids PA Lycoming County. Children are encouraged to bring their bikes, but arrangements will be made for those without bikes to participate in the rodeo.

Representative Flick emphasized the importance of safety measures, stating, "As the warm weather approaches, it’s a good time for parents and their children to be reminded of some safety tips before getting involved with outdoor activities." Fick also expressed his delight in collaborating with the library to ensure a safe and enjoyable summer for children, saying, “I’m happy to have partnered with James V. Brown Library’s staff to help promote a safe and enjoyable summer for children.”

Various organizations, including the Lycoming County Coroner’s office and PennDOT, will be present at the event to provide health and safety information. Additional organizations interested in participating can register as vendors for the symposium by visiting repflick.com/events.

Registration is strongly advised for the Bike Safety Rodeo, and interested parties can sign up on the event's website. For more information, individuals can contact Representative Jamie Flick's office through the provided contact information.
