Borowicz to Host Bridge Dedication in Honor of Staff Sgt. John F. Curcio

Lock Haven, Apr 9, 2024 - Rep. Stephanie Borowicz (R- Clinton, Union) is set to host a bridge dedication ceremony in honor of Staff Sgt. John F. Curcio on Friday, April 26. The event will take place at Chapman Township Firehall in North Bend, Pennsylvania, at 10 a.m.

The dedication will be for Bridge Key 12099, which carries Pennsylvania Route 120, also known as Renovo Road, over Young Women’s Creek in Chapman Township, Clinton County. This bridge will be officially named the Staff Sgt. John Curcio Bridge in recognition of the late war hero's contributions.

Staff Sgt. John F. Curcio is remembered for his courage and bravery during his service. He was a part of the 8th Army Airforce, 458th Bomber Group in World War II, where he successfully completed 35 combat missions as a tail gunner in the European Theater. For his remarkable service, Curcio was honored with the Air Medal with Four Oak Leaf Clusters.

Representative Borowicz expressed her admiration for Curcio, stating, "Staff Sgt. Curcio is an American hero, and the impact he left on our community is invaluable." She further added, "I am grateful for his service to this country and being able to honor his legacy."

Interested individuals are invited to join the dedication event on April 26 to pay tribute to the memory of Staff Sgt. John F. Curcio.
