State Senator Eugene Yaw | Pennsylvania
State Sen. Gene Yaw (R-23) revealed that $315,000 in state funding has been allocated to Union County's Ritz-Craft Corporation through Pennsylvania's Commonwealth Financing Authority (CFA). The funding was approved during a recent CFA Board meeting under the Authority's Multimodal Transportation Fund (MTF) program. The investment aims to enhance the infrastructure of Ritz-Craft's Route 45 Hotel and Conference Center development in Limestone Township.
Sen. Yaw expressed his enthusiasm about the funding, stating, "This multi-generational company brings high-quality facilities and jobs to Union County and creates substantial economic benefits for our region." The senator also emphasized the importance of the investment in ensuring the safety of visitors and hotel guests at the development site.
Ritz-Craft Corporation, which stands as the 3rd largest employer in Union County with around 700 employees, has been a cornerstone of the community since its establishment in 1954. The company has not only constructed over 100,000 homes but has also diversified its business ventures to include successful entities like Rusty Rail Brewing Company and Legacy Crafted Cabinets.
Owners of Ritz-Craft, Paul and Eric John, expressed their gratitude towards the Borough of Mifflinburg and Union County for their longstanding support. They stated, "We look forward to utilizing this grant to give back to the Mifflinburg and Union County communities by adding to their economic growth and infrastructure improvements."
The grant from the Multimodal Transportation Fund, which focuses on promoting economic development and ensuring a safe transportation system for the residents of Pennsylvania, will contribute to the development, rehabilitation, and enhancement of transportation assets in existing communities. This includes improvements in streetscape, lighting, sidewalk enhancements, pedestrian safety, connectivity of transportation assets, and transit-oriented development.
