State grants totaling over $3.3 million have been awarded to projects aimed at improving sewer and water systems in Schuylkill County, according to Senator Dave Argall, Representative JoAnne Stehr, and Representative Tim Twardzik. The funding will address outdated sewer systems that have the potential to pollute local creeks and improve waterways throughout the county.
Senator Argall emphasized the importance of this funding, stating, "Outdated sewer systems can pollute our local creeks. This highly competitive state funding will improve waterways throughout Schuylkill County."

Highlighting a specific project, Representative Twardzik announced that the Ashland Area Municipal Authority's 300,000 gallon finished water tank project will be funded through a Commonwealth Financing Authority (CFA) grant award.
