Lacrosse notches team academic award, sends 10 student-athletes to individual honor roll

 Today (July 27), the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) released its 2021-22 Academic Honor Roll and Honor Squads, and the Lock Haven University lacrosse team brought home the team award along with sending 10 Bald Eagles to the individual honor roll.

 

The ten LHU student-athletes to be named to the 2022 IWLCA Division II Academic Honor Roll included: Campbell Brant (Shoreham, N.Y./Shoreham-Wading River), Gracie Chaires (Darlington, Md./Harford Technical), Brianna Cook (Lake Worth, Fla./Park Vista Community), Casey Hibbard (Ontario, N.Y./Wayne Central), Elizabeth Newman (Hummelstown, Pa./Hershey), Krysta Reading (Warrington, Pa./Central Bucks South), Shannen Roy (Doylestown, Pa./Central Bucks West), Sydney Schramm (Phoenixville, Pa./Phoenixville), Alexa Staffu (Shrub Oak, N.Y./Lakeland) and Zoe Waddell (Catonsville, Md./Catonsville).

 

The Bald Eagles joined 517 student-athletes from 68 different institutions honored by the IWLCA. To be eligible for the award, student-athletes must be a junior, senior, or graduate student and have earned a cumulative academic GPA of 3.50 or greater.

 

As a team, the Haven was named an Academic Honor Squad by the IWLCA. To qualify for this prestigious honor, the women's lacrosse team must have posted a 3.2 or higher team GPA for the 2021-22 academic year.
