Men’s Track & Field caps final day of PSAC Championships

Lock Haven University Athletics issued the following announcement on May 14.

The Lock Haven University men's outdoor track & field team wrapped up day three of competition at the 2022 Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Championships with another strong effort today (Saturday, May 14).  

Gage Krall (Jonestown, Pa./Northern Lebanon) turned in a tremendous individual double, which included victory at 5,000 meters.  

Ryan Miller (Bradford, Pa./Bradford) also had another big day for The Haven, scoring in both 400 and 200-meter finals. In the 400, he hit an NCAA championship provisional qualifying mark.  

Krall bested the field in the 5K with a time of 14:54.61. The 5,000-meter victory came after Krall placed seventh in the 1,500-meter run with a personal-best mark of 3:57.85 earlier today.  

Miller put forth a blazing effort in the 400-meter finals. He finished second with a time of 47.63. The personal-best mark proved to be an NCAA Division II provisional qualifying mark and it is the fourth-fastest time in school history.  

Miller capped his individual schedule today with sixth-place finish at 200 meters with a time of 22.19 

Austin Kravetz (Altoona, Pa./Altoona) finished eighth in the 110-meter hurdles. He recorded a personal-best time for the second consecutive day and ran 15.30 in today's finals. Kravetz placed seventh in the 400-meter hurdles with a time of 57.28.  

John Davern (Manchester, N.J./Manchester) and Hunter Confair (Watsontown, Pa./Warrior Run) placed 10th and 14th respectively in the 5K with times of 15:19.51 and 15:23.26. 

In the 4x400 meters, The Haven team of Matthew Muthler (Pottstown, Pa./Owen J. Roberts), Brennan Miller (Mechanicsburg, Pa./Mechanicsburg), Ayden Summers (Altoona, Pa./Altoona) and Ryan Miller placed sixth with a time of 3:21.42. 

Yesterday (Friday, May 13), the Bald Eagles were led by Davern and Confair as the duo's effort in the 3,000-meter steeplechase finals headlined Day 2 action. Davern and Confair ran to personal-best marks and finished 4-5, respectively, in the event to put points on the board for the Bald Eagles. In the steeplechase, Davern placed fourth with a personal-best time of 9:28.00 and Confair was right behind him in fifth with a huge personal-best time of 9:31.94.  

On Friday, Miller qualified for today's finals at 200 and 400 meters and Kravetz stood out in the two hurdle prelim events for Lock Haven.  

Overall, in the team standings, Lock Haven finished eighth out of 13 total teams at the championship event.
