PSAC has 21 Fall 2021 Academic-All Americans

Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference issued the following announcement on Dec. 17.

Twenty-one Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference student-athletes from twelve institutions have been honored as 2021 Academic All-Americans by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).   

Slippery Rock wide receiver Henry Litwin is the 2021 CoSIDA Academic All-American Football Team Member of the Year. Litwin completed his undergraduate degree in Safety Management with a 3.66 grade point average and he holds a 4.00 in his masters of business administration graduate degree. 

Slippery Rock football teammates Austin Wayt and Cinque Sweeting received second team honors. Joining Litwin in earning first team honors are Cal U offensive lineman Noel Brouse, Shepherd defensive lineman Ricky Robinson, and Shippensburg defensive back Trey Paul. Shippensburg quarterback Brycen Mussina, Seton Hill running back Logan Wiland, East Stroudsburg wide receiver Rece Bender, Cal U offensive lineman Eric Hudanick, and West Chester defensive lineman Michael Gobora all earned a place on the second team. 

Four men’s soccer players were selected as Academic All-Americans. Gannon midfielder Sergio Del Castillo and Lock Haven midfielder Beckham Sibiski are each second team honorees. Slippery Rock’s Mo Kanai and PSAC West Athlete of the Year Sidney Warden were named to the third team. 

Women’s soccer PSAC East Defensive Athlete of the Year Natalie Holmes of Bloomsburg is a third team selection, and Jordyn Minda, a midfielder from Slippery Rock, is a second team honoree. 

Four volleyball student-athletes earned All-American honors. Ashley Beyers helped Gannon reach the Final Four and she earned a place on the second team for the second year in a row. Teammate Lauren Sampson was named to the third team. PSAC East Athlete of the Year Ali Finch of East Stroudsburg is on the third team along with PSAC champion Julia Piccolino of Clarion. 

Slippery Rock leads all PSAC institutions with six Academic All-Americans. Gannon has three while East Stroudsburg, Cal U and Shippensburg have two. Bloomsburg, Clarion, East Stroudsburg, Lock Haven, Mercyhurst, Seton Hill, Shepherd, and West Chester each have one. 

Field Hockey student-athletes are honored as members of the At-Large team in June and Cross Country student-athletes will be honored along with Track and Field athletes at the conclusion of the spring semester.

The member institutions are Bloomsburg University, California University of Pennsylvania, Clarion University, East Stroudsburg University, Edinboro University, Gannon University, Indiana University of Pennsylvania, Kutztown University, Lock Haven University, Mansfield University, Mercyhurst University, Millersville University, The University of Pittsburgh at Johnstown, Seton Hill University, Shepherd University, Shippensburg University, Slippery Rock University and West Chester University.
