Kira Rosamilia chosen to manage downtown

Genbusiness001

Clinton County issued the following announcement on Aug. 17.

Kira Rosamilia is the new manager of Downtown Lock Haven Inc.

The DLH board unanimously hired Rosamilia, whose first day at work at the nonprofit's office at 205 E. Main St. downtown, was yesterday.

In announcing the move, Angela Harding, DLH board president, said the board is "pleased to announce the hiring of Kira Rosamilia as the new Downtown Lock Haven manager."

She fills the vacancy of Marie Vilello, who stepped down earlier this year.

Rosamilia is a resident of the City of Lock Haven and most recently held a career as a licensed practical nurse (LPN).

Over the last several years, Kira dedicated much of her time to the Lock Haven Catholic School PTO, where she currently is listed as PTO president.

During her involvement with the school, Kira was instrumental in multiple fundraising activities; one of which yielded new playground equipment for the school.

She is married to local attorney, Thom Rosamilia, Esq. and the couple have two sons, Dominic, 9, and Alex, 7.

"Kira and her family have been present in the downtown business community for many years and many of the merchants and business owners already know her by name, which should make the transition into her new role seamless," Harding said.

Leading up to her start date, Kira has been talking to businesses and gathering ideas to move the Downtown district forward.

"I have existing relationships with several business owners in the downtown community and look forward to expanding those relationship and creating new ones to benefit our community," Kira said.

The downtown board characterized Rosamilia as "highly motivated" and someone who "understands our downtown and the importance of marketing."

Beginning Monday, Aug. 23, and moving forward, the Downtown Lock Haven office will be open for business from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Monday through Friday.

Rosamilia hit the ground running.

She will begin distributing Hometown Hero banners on Aug. 30.

The Hometown Hero Banner Ceremony, meanwhile, is set for 10 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 28, at the J. Doyle Corman Amphitheatre.

A number of guest speakers are scheduled as the agency unveils another 197 banners - new, rehangs and reprints.

The Hometown Hero Banner Program is DLH's largest fundraising event.

Initiated in 2008 - with banners unveiled every two years - this year's banners will bring to nearly 2,500 the total proudly displayed on the streetlights and Riverwalk in Lock Haven.

Also, Harding said Rosamilia will, among other tasks, meet with the city manager and other city staff this week.

Other upcoming events:

- The Market on Main Farmer's Market continues each Saturday morning at the Main Street parking lot from 9 a.m. until noon.

- The Pedestrian Mall will be in effect Aug. 27 and 28 and each weekend in September.
