Cost of college went up for all students at Pennsylvania College of Technology

In-state tuition and fees rose 2.4 percent for 2018-19 at Pennsylvania College of Technology, according to recent data from the U.S. Department of Education.

Pennsylvania residents paid $16,740 to attend the four-year public institution this year – $390 more than the $16,350 charged for 2017-18.

Non-residents paid 42.7 percent more than residents this year, or $23,880. Their price tag grew 2.6 percent from $23,280 in 2017-18.

About 91 percent of the school's undergraduate population are Pennsylvania residents. And about 9 percent are residents of other states.

Data shows 89 percent of full-time undergraduates who started school in 2015-16 received student financial aid in some form. In all, 1,025 students received grants or scholarships totaling $5.1 million and 903 students took out student loans totaling more than $10.3 million.

Including all undergraduates (5,322), 3,566 students used grants or scholarships totaling $30.9 million, and 3,679 students took out $25 million in federal student loans.
