Penn College senior Tommy DeGeyter from Long Valley, New Jersey, has been named to the United Soccer Coaches Scholar All-East Region Second Team. This announcement was made on Wednesday.
DeGeyter is recognized as the first player in the program's NCAA Era history to receive an all-region selection and also the first to earn a spot on the scholar all-region team.
To be selected for the 2024 Scholar All-Region Men's Soccer Teams, student-athletes must be juniors or seniors, maintain a GPA of 3.40 or higher, and have participated in at least 75% of their institution's contests during the season.
DeGeyter is majoring in Residential Construction Technology and Management with a GPA of 3.46. He concluded his season as one of only three Wildcats to earn three or more all-conference nods in program history. As captain, he led his team with 18 points, six goals, and six assists for two consecutive seasons and maintained a perfect record in penalty kicks. DeGeyter ranked tied for 15th in scoring and points within the United East Conference and sixth in assists. He took 28 shots with half being on target while contributing defensively to achieve five shutouts for his team.
