The Ivy League has recognized Ethan Roberts, a junior transfer from the University of Pennsylvania, as the Men's Basketball Player of the Week. This accolade marks Roberts' first Ivy League weekly honor this season. Previously, he was named the Patriot League Rookie of the Year as a freshman at Army following the 2022-23 season.
Roberts delivered an impressive performance at the Cathedral Classic Invitational over the weekend. He led all players in scoring during each of Penn's three games, amassing a total of 76 points. On Friday, he scored a collegiate high of 33 points in a loss to Navy. The following day, Roberts achieved his second double-double of the season with 23 points and 10 rebounds in Penn's victory over Maine, also contributing four assists and three steals. He concluded the tournament with 20 points and six rebounds in Sunday's game against Elon.
Looking ahead, Penn is set to play Drexel on Saturday as part of the Big 5 Classic at Wells Fargo Center. The game is scheduled to start at 2 p.m.
