More than $1.6 million has been allocated to schools in Carbon County through the Public School Facility Improvement Grant program. The announcement was made by state Senator Dave Argall and state Representative Doyle Heffley.
Senator Argall, who serves as the chair of the Senate Education Committee, highlighted the importance of this funding. "As the chair of the Senate Education Committee, I understand how serious the need is for better school buildings," said Argall. "Outdated school facilities can put student safety in jeopardy and this highly competitive funding is much needed."
Representative Heffley emphasized the financial relief this grant brings to local districts. "These valuable state dollars will also provide much-needed support to our local school districts that applied for grant funding," Heffley stated. "By securing these resources, we can significantly reduce the financial strain on our local taxpayers while ensuring our schools have the tools they need to thrive. I’m happy to work alongside Sen. Argall to secure additional funding for these projects, and I will continue advocating for investments that benefit our communities."
The funds were distributed among four school districts in Carbon County.
