Penn College's men's and women's cross-country teams competed at the NCAA Division III Mid-Atlantic Regional Championships in Lock Haven, Pennsylvania. The men's team finished 22nd out of 29 teams, while the women's team placed 29th in a field of 30.
For the men's team, Matthew Woolcock led with a time of 27:14.9 over an 8K course, securing the 117th position among 216 runners. Other notable performances included Mitchell Campbell at 139th with a time of 27:42.2 and Alec Rees at 142nd in 27:44.3.
The men's competition was won by Carnegie Mellon with a score of 39 points, followed closely by Johns Hopkins with 40 points. Emmanuel Leblond from Johns Hopkins claimed first place individually with a time of 24:12.8.
On the women's side, Elaina Brady was Penn College's top performer, finishing in the 159th position out of 217 competitors on a 6K course with a time of 26:28.8. Isabella Kerlin and Karleigh Hunter also contributed to the team's effort.
Johns Hopkins dominated the women's field as well, winning with a score of just 34 points. Claire Anderson from Washington & Jefferson secured first place individually, completing her race in just over twenty-one minutes.
With this event marking the end of their season, Penn College will now look forward to next fall for further competition opportunities.
