Penn College men defend title; women place fourth in United East Conference

Penn College's men's cross-country team successfully defended its United East Conference championship on Saturday, achieving 49 points in an 11-team field. Alec Rees led the team with a fifth-place finish and a personal-best time of 28:14.14. The women's team secured fourth place among 13 teams, with Elaina Brady finishing tenth.

In the men's 8K race, Mitchell Campbell finished seventh with a time of 28:52.40, followed by Ethan Knapp in tenth at 29:10.60. Matthew Woolcock came in eleventh at 29:12.86, and Aaron Guerrisky placed sixteenth at 29:49.84. Holden Furey was seventeenth at 29:53.96, and Chase Ebeling took twenty-first place at 30:23.51.

The competition saw St. Mary's (Md.) finishing second with 68 points, Penn State Berks third with 97 points, and Lancaster Bible College fourth with 104 points.

For the women's team in the 6K race, Brady completed the course in a personal-best time of 26:37.7. Isabella Kerlin finished twenty-third at 28:54.0, Karleigh Hunter was twenty-seventh at 29:44.0, Lillian DePew placed thirty-second at 30:07.91, and Kayleigh Miller was forty-fourth at 31:50.2.

St. Mary's (Md.) College won the women's event with a score of 30 points.

Penn College will next compete in the NCAA Division III Mid-Atlantic Regional Championship on November 16 at Lock Haven University.
