Penn College men's soccer team faced a narrow defeat against McDaniel, ending with a 1-0 scoreline. The match took place in Westminster, Maryland, on Sunday. This result brings the Wildcats to a record of 1-1-0 for the opening weekend of the 2023 season, while McDaniel stands at 1-0-1.
The decisive moment came after nearly an hour of balanced play between the two teams. McDaniel's AJ Nordone connected with Charlie Olson at the 59:07 mark to score the only goal of the game.
During the match, Penn College managed three shots on goal from players Tommy DeGeyter, Jack Lenosky, and Mason Kostick. Wildcats' goalkeeper Cole Catherman contributed with six saves. However, McDaniel had more opportunities overall, outshooting Penn College 12-3 and leading in corner kicks by nine to three.
Penn College is set to return to action on Tuesday, September 5th. They will face Gwynedd Mercy at 7 p.m. in a nonconference match.
