Penn College's women's soccer team played to a 2-2 draw against Mt. Aloysius in a nonconference match on Friday. The game marked the opening of the season for the Wildcats, leaving them with a record of 0-0-1.
The match saw early action when Kaelynn Sheetz scored in the first minute, putting Penn College ahead 1-0. However, Mt. Aloysius responded with two goals in quick succession during the sixth and 12th minutes, taking a 2-1 lead. The Wildcats managed to equalize when BillieGean Hennesy assisted Sheetz for her second goal in the 27th minute.
In the second half, Penn College attempted six shots while Mt. Aloysius tried three, but neither team was able to score again.
Throughout the game, Penn College had a total of 15 shots compared to Mt. Aloysius' nine, while Mt. Aloysius had seven corner kicks to Penn College's two. Nicole Lichtinger played an essential role for Penn College by saving seven shots.
