The University of Pennsylvania has announced the addition of Ethan Roberts to its men's basketball team. Steve Donahue, the John R. Rockwell Head Coach of Men's Basketball at Penn, confirmed that Roberts will join the program after transferring from Drake University. Prior to his time at Drake, Roberts played for Army, where he was recognized as the Patriot League Rookie of the Year.

"I am really excited to have Ethan join our program," said Donahue. "He has already proven himself at the college level, putting together a great freshman season at Army two years ago, and I expect that his game will immediately impact our program. Ethan also grew up and remains good friends with Reese McMullen, so I imagine he will be well-versed in our program and its culture before he arrives on campus which will allow him to hit the ground running."

Roberts is a 6-foot-5 guard from Arlington Heights, Illinois. He spent last season as a redshirt at Drake due to a preseason injury. During his freshman year at Army, Roberts played in all 33 games, starting 31 of them. He averaged 12.4 points per game and 4.4 rebounds per game while making significant contributions in three-point shooting.

In high school, Roberts was a standout player at John Hersey High School under head coach Austin Scott, earning multiple accolades including all-state recognition.

Roberts expressed enthusiasm about joining Penn: "It is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity that encompasses my ambitions perfectly as a person. I feel that Penn will yield the best version of myself."
