The University of Pennsylvania's men's basketball team has announced the addition of Michael Zanoni to its roster. Head Coach Steve Donahue confirmed that Zanoni, who previously played for Mercer University, will join the program.

"I am excited to have Michael join our program," said Donahue. "Given his experience at this level, he brings a maturity that will immediately benefit our program. His style of play obviously fits well into what we're trying to do, so I expect that he will come in and have an immediate impact in the lineup."

Zanoni, a 6-foot-5 player from Charlotte, North Carolina, had limited playing time during the 2023-24 season due to an injury after participating in four games. During the previous season at Mercer, he played in every game and started 13 times. He averaged 20 minutes and 6.2 points per game with notable performances against Milligan and Middle Georgia State.

In high school, Zanoni was part of Greensboro Day School's nationally ranked team under coach Freddy Johnson. He was recognized as a two-time all-state and three-time all-conference selection and scored over 1,400 points during his high school career.

Reflecting on his decision to join Penn, Zanoni stated: "I chose Penn because the opportunity it provides on and off the court and I felt like it was a perfect fit for me."
