Penn College faced a setback in their recent volleyball match against Bryn Athyn, losing 3-1 in the United East conference on Saturday. The Wildcats now hold a record of 1-3 in the United East and 3-16-1 overall, while Bryn Athyn improved to 1-4 and 3-14-1.

The match began positively for Penn College as they claimed the first set with a score of 25-22. However, Bryn Athyn bounced back to win the next three sets, finishing at 25-21, 25-21, and an extended final set at 30-28.

In the opening set, Penn College managed to overturn a deficit of 21-15. Lena Howard's kill tied the game at 22-all before two errors from Bryn Athyn gave Penn College a lead. Hailey DeBrody's ace sealed the first set victory for them. During the second set, Nevaeh Ward brought the Wildcats close with her kill making it 23-21, but subsequent errors allowed Bryn Athyn to take that set.

The third set saw Howard giving Penn College a brief lead at 20-19; however, Bryn Athyn closed it out with a strong finish. The fourth and final set was closely contested with ties late into the game, ending finally at 30-28 in favor of Bryn Athyn.

Nevaeh Ward was notable for leading her team with 13 kills and contributing significantly with 24 digs. Both Ward and DeBrody recorded three aces each. Howard added four blocks to her name while Jo Hess assisted her teammates with a total of 25 assists during the match.

Penn College is scheduled to play again on Tuesday at home against Keystone College.
