Penn College's men's and women's cross-country teams both secured ninth place at the DeSales University Invitational held in Center Valley, Pennsylvania. The event saw participation from 16 men's teams and 13 women's teams.
In the men's competition, Mitchell Campbell led Penn College by completing an 8K course in 28:10.1, placing him 34th among 180 runners. Other notable performances included Alec Rees who finished 44th with a time of 28:30.7, Ethan Knapp in 67th at 29:38.4, Holden Furey in 72nd at 29:58.5, and Chase Ebeling in 80th with a time of 30:08.1. The team scored a total of 247 points.
Messiah University topped the men's field with a score of 40 points, followed by DeSales with 59 points and Widener with 64 points. Individually, Thomas Flear from Widener placed first with a time of 26:07.1.
On the women's side, Elaina Brady was the top finisher for Penn College over a 6K course, coming in at the 52nd position with a time of 27:44.8 among a field of 147 competitors. Isabella Kerlin followed closely behind in the standings at the 64th spot with a time of 28:34.4.
Lebanon Valley emerged as winners on the women's side scoring just 45 points while Haverford took second place with a score of 54 points followed by Messiah which earned third place scoring only eight more than Haverford (62). Ellie Kozich from DeSales secured first place individually clocking her race completion within twenty-three minutes (22 minutes precisely).
