Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference issued the following announcement on June 1.
Gannon’s Sarah White, Ditte Petersen, and Mercyhurst’s Ron Coleman were tabbed as major award winners for the 2021-22 Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference Women’s Golf Teams. The league office also announced the all-conference squads with the release Wednesday.
The PSAC All-Conference Teams and Major Award Winners are selected by a vote of the league’s head coaches.
Golden Knights’ sophomore Sarah White was tabbed as the women’s golf athlete of the year for the second consecutive season. White was the PSAC Championship Medalist and it 25.0 rounds this year she had an average score of 79.16 and a to-par score of +7.28. She won a pair of tournaments this year, including the PSAC Championship.
Freshman Ditte Petersen from Gannon proved to be one of the top players in the conference overall this season. She played in eight tournaments this year with an average score of 78.93 and a to-par score of 7.14 She was the medalist at the Mercyhurst Spring Invite and was tied for second at the PSAC Women’s Golf Championship.
Mercyhurst’s Ron Coleman caps off his coaching career after announcing his retirement this year, earning the PSAC Women’s Golf Coach of the Year honor. Coleman led the Lakers to a Runner-Up trophy in the last three PSAC Championships. Four of his starting five players this year finished in the top 20.
Gannon had the most all-conference honorees with four while Mercyhurst earned three. The full list of 2021-22 PSAC Women’s Golf All-Conference players is below.
