PSAC Women’s Lacrosse Athletes of the Week – 3

Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference issued the following announcement on Mar. 14.

The Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference announced this week’s women’s lacrosse athletes of the week. From the East, Amanda Juliano of Millersville and Maggie Sell of East Stroudsburg were selected. In the West, Jaclyn Frank of Seton Hill and Lauren Girardi of Lock Haven were picked.

 

Eastern Division

Athlete of the Week

 

Millersville

Amanda Juliano

Attack

Senior

Garnet Valley, Pa. / Garnet Valley

 

Amanda Juliano recorded an 11-point week over two games, which helped the Marauders to a 2-0 week. She scored three goals and sent out two assists in a win over Georgian Court and scored four goals along with two assists in a win over Wilmington (Del.). Juliano is a large part of what currently ranks at the nation’s leading scoring offense (20 goals per game).

Defensive Athlete of the Week

 

East Stroudsburg

Maggie Sell

Perkiomenville, Pa. / Perkiomen Valley

 

Led the ESU defense that allowed just three goals, all in the second half. Sell recorded five caused turnovers and five ground balls to lead the ESU defense. The Warriors built a 15-0 lead before conceding a goal.

Frank led the Griffins to a pair of wins in Florida. She scored three goals and added 13 assists during the week. Jaclyn scored her 100th career goal and picked up her 200th career point during the week. She added 3 ground balls and 2 caused turnovers. She had 2 goals and 7 assists in the 18-10 win at #23 St Leo.Defensive Athlete of the Week

Lock Haven

Lauren Girardi

Redshirt Senior

Watertown, N.Y. / Watertown

 

Lauren Girardi was tremendous in goal for LHU. The senior saved a season-high 18 Shippensburg shots and set strong 69.2 save percentage. The Bald Eagle keeper saved LHU time and time again in what was a tight 10-8 win over Shippensburg on Saturday afternoon.
