PENNSYLVANIA COLLEGE OF TECHNOLOGY: Penn College physician assistant student earns scholarship

Pennsylvania College of Technology issued the following announcement.

A Pennsylvania College of Technology student is one of 75 undergraduates nationwide to receive a scholarship from the Recycling Education and Research Foundation.

Emily L. Stevens, of Springville, received a $1,000 scholarship funded by the Mid-Atlantic Chapter of the Institute of Scrap Recycling Industries.

The ISRI is closely associated with the RERF, a nonprofit organization that promotes public awareness, education, research and the advancement of recycling. Dependents of employees of active ISRI member companies are eligible for the scholarships.

Stevens is a freshman enrolled in Penn College’s physician assistant studies major. The five-year program consists of three years of pre-professional education, followed by a year of intensive lab-based study and a year of clinical experience in a variety of medical settings. Graduates earn a Combined Bachelor/Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies degree.
