Penn College of Technology's men's soccer team saw two of its players recognized by the United East Conference for their performances last week. Juniors Tommy DeGeyter and Cole Catherman were named Offensive and Defensive Players of the Week, respectively.
DeGeyter played a pivotal role in leading the Wildcats to three consecutive shutout victories, extending their winning streak to four games. The defensive midfielder scored four goals during the week, including a hat-trick against Clarks Summit in a 3-0 win. He also secured a game-winning goal against Penn State Berks with a penalty kick in the 36th minute during the UEC opener. His defensive work was instrumental in limiting opponents to just four shots on goal throughout the week.
Catherman received his second Defensive Player of the Week honor after contributing to the team's 3-0 record and saving all four shots on goal he faced. He set an NCAA-era program record with his seventh career shutout against Penn State Berks.
