Several archers from Pennsylvania College of Technology achieved notable rankings at the 49th U.S. National Indoor Championships held on March 3-4 at Eastern Mennonite University in Harrisonburg, Virginia.
In the Women's Bowhunter Division, Erica Gause from Bloomsburg scored 1,131, securing second place regionally and fourth nationally. Nathaniel Haefka of Wyalusing achieved a score of 1,158 in men's bowhunter, also placing second regionally and fourth nationwide. Markus Weber from La Plata, Maryland scored 1,151 in men's compound to rank second regionally and seventh nationally. Chelsea Douglass of East Greenville ranked second in the region and 14th nationally with a score of 1,103 in women's compound.
Other performers included Tim Lamont from Eldred with a score of 1,150 ranking third regionally and eighth nationally in men's compound; Justin Rinehimer from Mt. Top scored 1,152 for third regional place and eleventh nationally in men's bowhunter; Seth Bechdel from Beech Creek earned a score of 1,148 for fourth regional position and eleventh nationally in men's bowhunter.
Tanner Huff from Altoona scored 1,021 to rank fifth regionally and thirty-fourth nationally in men's recurve; Kaylee Burk from Hermitage achieved a score of 938 for forty-fifth place nationally in women's recurve; Tyler Schoonover from Bradford scored 1,139 to place fifteenth nationally in men's compound; Sapphire Naugle from Jersey Shore with a score of 1,077 ranked twenty-fifth nationwide in women's compound; John Kleinfelter from Lebanon scored 1,128 placing twentieth nationally in men's bowhunter; Rylee Butler from Bellefonte secured tenth national position with a score of 1,079 in women's bowhunter.
Aaron Cummings from Mountville placed sixth regionally with a score of 1,134 ranking sixteenth nationwide in men's compound while Sabrina Toplovich from Spring Creek ranked twenty-eighth nationally scoring 1,068 points.
David Fox hailing Coburn scored an impressive tally of one thousand one hundred nine positioning him ninth within his territory yet thirtieth-second across all participants competing under this classification whereas Josh Maring originating Brookville registered merely nine hundred thirteen which consequently led to his overall seventy-first spot along fellow contenders engaged throughout aforementioned discipline taking part amidst competition organized last weekend
The Wildcats are set to compete next at the Adam Wheatcroft Memorial at James Madison University on April 14-15.
