STATESBORO, Ga. — Matthew Byrnes led the Penn College archers during Friday's qualifying at the USA Archery Collegiate Target Nationals. He enters Saturday's eliminations in the men's compound event ranked 14th.

Byrnes achieved rounds of 345-345—690 to secure his position. Joining him in the men's compound category for the Wildcats were Alex Edwards, who scored 325-331—656 and ranked 40th, and Emery Gunsallus with a score of 320-326—646, ranking 43rd out of 59 participants.

In the men's fixed pins category, Aydan McLain qualified in 35th place out of 53 with a score of 322-313—635. Ben Mayhorn followed in 41st place with a score of 307-308—615, while Atley Cooper secured the 42nd position with a score of 302-313—615.

Elimination rounds and team rounds are scheduled for Saturday.
