Penn College ends volleyball season after loss to St. Mary's

Penn College women's volleyball team concluded their regular season with a 4-1 loss to St. Mary's on Saturday, October 28, in Williamsport, Pennsylvania. The Wildcats ended the season with an overall record of 4-17 and a conference record of 0-6 in the United East Conference (UEC). Meanwhile, the Seahawks improved their overall record to 11-15 and their UEC record to 2-4.

The match began with St. Mary's taking the first set with a score of 25-18. Penn College responded by winning the second set narrowly at 25-23. However, St. Mary's secured victories in the third and fourth sets with scores of 25-14 and 25-16, respectively. A significant factor in St. Mary's win was their accumulation of 20 aces throughout the match.

Marianna Dariychuk led Penn College with 12 kills during the game. Seniors Coryn Oswald contributed six kills and recorded 16 digs, while Lauren Hergert added four kills along with 11 digs. Cheyenne Stein achieved a team-high of 19 assists, alongside her contributions of 14 digs and four aces out of the team's total seven aces. Maggie Mangene finished with three kills, and Madison Shaffer had one kill as part of Senior Day activities.

With this match, Penn College has completed its volleyball season for the year.
